Newtons First Law

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sm8qb2kP-fQ

This video demonstrates a table cloth being ripped from underneath dishes. Even though the table cloth was being pulled from underneath the dishes, the dishes stay at rest. They stay at rest unless a force causes them to move, and there was no force on the dishes. This video supports Newton's 1st law of motion that says an object will stay at rest or an object will stay in motion unless a force causes it to change.

  1. 1. I must say that I really enjoyed the part where the small child is trapped under a really heavy looking bookcase. It's so funny when people get hurt, especially small children!

    2. Our sources are similar in that they both demonstrate inertia. However, mine is more of a documentary-type thing and yours is a seemingly random video that you explained and made totally valid.

    3. My sole criticism for this post is that your link doesn't work. Of course I could copy and paste it, but it's just so neat when it's a working link! I really like the part when you hover over a link and it glows.
